Machine change led to more work

Increased production, more exciting assignments and happier customers. Just think how much a change of machine can do.
– We have more work and at the same time we have been able to raise the quality of our work, says Daniel Jacobsson.

At the beginning of the year, you could read about Drängsereds Skogskonsult in Terri’s newsletter. The company had just replaced its old forest machines with brand-new ones from Terri. The original plan was to buy a forwarder – but it ended up being a harvester as well.
– Since then, things have gone fantastically well. We are becoming more and more satisfied with the machines as time goes on. On top of that, our production has increased, which is incredibly rewarding, says Daniel Jacobsson.

Customers and landowners have also noticed a higher quality in the company’s work.
– Everyone is happy and satisfied. Many of this summer’s assignments have been on bogs and wet ground where nobody else has been able to drive. But it has not been a problem at all for us and our new machines, says Daniel.
– Of course, if you go onto that kind of ground with a harvester weighing 15–20 tonnes, it is difficult. But for us there have been no problems at all.

The division of roles in the family business is crystal clear. Daniel does the harvesting, while his father Helge follows behind with the forwarder.
– That is how it has been from the start. I have tried to get Dad to switch, but he has never wanted to. But I am not complaining – I think driving the harvester is the most fun.

What are your plans for the future?
– We have a few things in the pipeline. We are now looking at hiring. It has been so intense lately, and it looks set to continue. Dad and I want to keep the machines running and need some relief, says Daniel.
