Forwarder hunt ended with a harvester purchase – as well!
Drängsereds Skogskonsult was looking for a new forwarder and went to Älmhult on a study visit. After that, the deal was done. And they were not content with just one – from now on there will be two red machines in the forests of Halland.
Drängsereds Skogskonsult is run by father and son Jacobsson. While Helge is responsible for the forwarding, it is Daniel who makes sure the trees are felled. When they felt last year that their existing machines were starting to show their age, they looked around at the alternatives for updating their fleet.
– We got in touch with Terri and made a study visit. They showed us the factory and we were given a walkthrough of the machine. We decided to go for a Terri 34c 8wd Forwarder. But then we got the chance to test drive the harvester as well…, says Daniel Jacobsson.
Daniel got to test the machine and was impressed. So impressed that the company ended up buying the wheeled harvester too.
– We have always been involved in small-scale forestry. This machine is just as small as the one we had before, but there is a huge difference in capacity. At the same time, you can still do a very fine and precise job, he says.
The company recently signed a contract with Sydved that means full-time work in the forests of Halland. Above all, it is first thinning, but Daniel explains that the machine also makes it easier to take on second and third thinnings.
– The machines can handle it. They are considerably more powerful and sturdier than the ones we had before.
Not only do the new machines have even better capacity. The good contact with Terri was also decisive for the purchase.
– There is nothing to complain about there; everything has been positive from the start. When we call, there is never any problem, and the staff at Terri are very helpful whatever it is about, says Daniel.
