Five quick questions with Terri operator Marcus Jansson
Datum: 25 March 2019
Marcus Jansson, 39, from Vittsjö, drove a truck for 13 years. When, two and a half years ago, it was time to retrain as a forest machine operator, the choice fell on a Terri. And it is in the forest that he feels most at home. When he is not in the machine, it is hunting, mountain hiking or skiing that draws him.
What machine do you drive?
– My first machine was a Terri 34, but when I needed to upgrade it became a Terri 34c Combi. An incredible amount has happened, and if the development continues, the machines will only get even better.
Why did you choose Terri?
– I was at Elmia and fell for Terri straight away because it was the strongest of the smaller machines. It is the best option when you drive across pine bogs.
What is the first thing you do when you get into the machine?
– I do not really have any routines. I put my lunch box in the cool bag, and then I just start driving.
What is the best thing about having the forest as your workplace?
– Above all, I like that it is such a free kind of work. There is nobody else to think about – I manage myself. If I need an hour off, I can make up for it the next day.
– And it is a huge bonus when you get to see an elk come out and eat a bit of what you have felled.
Why does the combi machine suit your assignments in particular?
– I work on my own, so it is very handy. Switching is quick and easy, and I do not want to stand still. Besides, when I move to another area, I have the whole machine with me.
