Alfing and Terri are growing – expanding with a new factory
Datum: 20 May 2022
The forest machine manufacturer Terri is expanding in Älmhult. Thanks to increased sales and strong demand for the latest model, the Terri 3, new premises are now being built. The company also expects to hire around 20 new employees before the end of the year.
Planning permission has been granted, and building work will start around the summer holidays. The new premises are then expected to be taken into use in early spring 2023. When everything is completed, 3,200 square metres will be ready, divided into an assembly hall, spare parts warehouse, offices and staff facilities.
– The premises are a big step up, especially in terms of logistics, and it is very pleasing that our owners want to make this investment, says Hans Johansson, product developer at Terri.
– We are very positive about the market, and this gives us great opportunities to continue growing.
Since the model was launched in April last year, the Terri 3 has had a strong impact. The agile machine, which is available as a harvester, forwarder or combi, is ideal for in-stand thinning. With 20 smart innovations compared with the previous machine model, low ground pressure and high ground clearance, among other things, it has become a big favourite among many forest machine operators.
– The expansion means fantastic opportunities for us. In addition to manufacturing in our own premises, with good material flows and all tools close at hand, we will also focus on ergonomically designed assembly stations and a good working environment, says Arne Isaksson, sales and marketing manager at Terri.
– Our market is growing, both in Sweden and in exports, and we can clearly see that robust machines for gentle thinning are in tune with the times.
Terri and Alfing Seating are part of Alfing i Älmhult AB, which in turn is owned by the Jönköping-based investment company Inev. The company currently has two large factories in Älmhult with contract manufacturing, production of chairs and grandstands and the manufacture of forest machines.
With the new extension, the total factory area will be 25,000 square metres.
– We are really in an offensive phase, and the new construction also has positive side effects for both Alfing and Alfing Seating, says Claes-Göran Claeson, CEO of Alfing.
