Terri expands to Norway to meet growing demand for gentle thinning

Terri, the leading Swedish manufacturer of forest machines, known for its innovative solutions for gentle thinning, is now expanding its business to Norway. With an impressive market share of 55.9% in Sweden, Terri is now aiming to meet the growing interest from Norwegian forest owners and contractors in environmentally friendly forest management.

“We have seen a significant increase in interest in our gentle thinning methods from Norway and therefore decided to establish Terri Norway, with a solid base in Aurskog,” says Arne Isaksson, marketing manager at Terri.

Around 25% of Norway’s land area consists of productive forest land. With mild winters and a rainy climate, alternative forest management methods are important to ensure a sustainable supply of timber to the industry while protecting the remaining forest from damage.

“The growing demand and the higher prices for pulpwood and biofuel make it increasingly economically attractive for Norwegian forest owners to thin their forests,”

comments Tor Idar Paulsen, Managing Director of Terri Norway, on the market situation.

Meet Tor Idar Paulsen – Managing Director of Terri Norway

In connection with the expansion, Terri Norway has appointed Tor Idar Paulsen as Managing Director. With more than ten years of experience in B2B sales and technical support for heavy vehicles, as well as a strong commitment to meeting customers’ needs, Tor Idar is a significant asset to the company.

“It is about building trust with our customers, understanding their needs and being there to support them in their efforts to develop a more sustainable and profitable business. We will work closely with our Norwegian colleagues to ensure that we deliver the best possible solutions, adapted to the unique conditions in Norway’s forests,” says Tor Idar Paulsen.

Under Paulsen’s leadership, Terri Norway looks forward to a successful future and a strong presence in the Norwegian market.
