The fire chief welcomes Terri’s new tool carrier

Simple, versatile and easy to move. That is how Lars Nilsson, fire chief at the Älmhult Rescue Service, wants a tool carrier to be.
– There must be no risk of it tipping over or getting wedged between trees and stumps, he says.

Lars Nilsson has worked in the rescue service for many years, and at the beginning of 2018 he took over as fire chief in Älmhult. This summer he was part of the staff monitoring and fighting the forest fires in Ljusdal, where the fires were at their worst.
– Large areas were burning. The fires were spread out and difficult to access, which made the work harder, he says.

It was in the middle of this summer’s major forest fires that Terri came up with the idea of developing a tool carrier for similar crisis situations. In mid-October, the first Terri 3020B Band Aid+ rolled out of the workshop in Älmhult, adapted to be able to respond in crisis situations. Something Lars welcomes.
– There is a need for a reliable machine that is not too big. It must be able to carry water and equipment, for example for fighting forest fires.
– I have seen Terri’s machine at the production stage, and the benefits are that it is portable, has high bearing capacity and can get through the terrain. The fact that it can be equipped with a platform and crane increases its areas of use.

Something Terri has invested heavily in is making the machine easy to manoeuvre.
– That is important whatever vehicle you are driving. There must be no risk of it tipping over or getting wedged between trees and stumps.
– Simple, versatile and easy to move – that is what is required of machines like these.
