Terri continues to strengthen its team – Jonathan Strid is the new strategic buyer

Terri is now becoming even more efficient and forward-looking on the purchasing side.
Since 1 December, the team has been strengthened by 34-year-old Jonathan Strid in the role of strategic buyer.
– The investment Terri is making looks really bright and exciting, says Jonathan.

Jonathan joins our team with broad knowledge and experience. His CV includes mechanical work in industry as well as work in both purchasing and sales, most recently at the Älmhult-based weaving machine company Texo.
– Terri’s agile machines are completely in tune with the times, so when the role of strategic buyer came up, I jumped at it straight away, says Jonathan.
– I have a great interest in forests and nature myself, and wood is becoming an increasingly sought-after product in various manufacturing processes, such as clothing and fuel.

Jonathan is based at the head office in Älmhult, but in his role he will also be travelling to visit both suppliers and fairs.
– I believe in personal and social contact, aspects that are very important in a functioning, long-term collaboration. I have already met several of our suppliers and look forward to building more good relationships.

How would you describe your role as strategic buyer?
– Essentially, it is about working with our suppliers in the long term, finding the right deliveries for the right product, and thereby working towards greater efficiency and a smart set-up. Bringing our collaborations together and thereby securing the future.
– It will take many hours and a lot of contacts, but I see that as the most important part of my role.

Jonathan has a genuine interest in the forest, and for the past five years the family has owned its own forest property.
– It is really my interest in the product, the wood, that has brought me to Terri. Having my own interest in forests and then getting the chance to be part of the investment Terri is making right now, with a new factory, robust machines, development… opportunities like that don’t come along very often, says Jonathan.

Have you learned everything about Terri’s machines yet?
– I have only been working here since 1 December, but I have read up as much as I could at home and have also been involved in the assembly.
– There is a lot to get to grips with, but I really want to learn what I will be working with and know everything about the machine, both how to wrench on it and how to drive it.
