New machine from Terri to make things easier in crisis situations
This summer Sweden’s forests were on fire, and the firefighting work was delayed by outdated machines. That is why the forest machine manufacturer Terri has developed an environmentally friendly, nature-friendly tool carrier that will make things considerably easier in future crisis situations.
– The machine can handle most things and works perfectly as a load carrier on difficult ground, says Pontus Wallden, sales representative at Terri.
Terri has made a name for itself by manufacturing small and agile forest machines with low ground impact. In connection with this summer’s extensive forest fires, the company realised that its products can also be used in other areas.
– I was in Ljusdal helping out when the forests were burning at their worst. It became clear that the existing machines are outdated and could not be used in the best way. Then I thought that, with a few simple modifications, we could use our product in this market, says Pontus Wallden.
The size and weight of the Terri 3020B Band Aid+ make it possible to transport it on an ordinary car trailer for rapid deployment. The machine is equipped according to the buyer’s needs and has a wide range of uses. Fires, power cuts and the delivery of fresh water are just a few of them.
– This machine can handle most things and works perfectly as a load carrier in crisis situations on difficult ground.
– We can adapt the machine to the buyer’s superstructure needs, and virtually any attachment can be connected, says Pontus Wallden.
The machine gets through all types of terrain, and the design of the bogie means that the tracks are always in contact with the surface, whatever the ground. As development progresses and new machines are developed, increasingly high demands are placed on environmental and ergonomic thinking.
– That is where I know we are on the right track. We have manufactured a small environmental machine with the latest technology that gets through many different types of ground while being gentle on nature. The cab is both spacious and comfortable, and as an operator you have good visibility in all directions, says Pontus Wallden.
The launch means that the company is broadening its range of machines and reaching new markets. In the development work, Terri has focused on making the machine simple and flexible.
– It should not take more than five minutes to learn how to move the machine. In a crisis situation it is important to be able to get to the scene quickly, for example to fight fires, says Pontus Wallden.
